RED Workflow For Final Cut Pro

Tired of hearing about wavelets and lutz? The many different user options in the RED - Final Cut Pro workflow can seem daunting and can end up being either a nightmare or a blessing for indie film makers.

We’ll be discussing the practical side of media management, techniques to streamline the import of RED media and the export of metadata. Learn to develop a workflow based on your project’s needs and pick an online method based on the tools available to you. Finally we’ll discuss some new features in FCP 7 including ProRez Proxy, ichat theatre, and some new options in the log and transfer window. RED and FCP 7, working together for your needs.

Misha Tenenbaum is an Apple Certified, Final Cut Pro Instructor, training industry professionals at Video Symphony, Moviola and Logic Pro Help in Hollywood. He's edited TV shows airing on the Outdoor Network and Speed Channel. Recently he edited a romantic comedy directed by David Burton Morris called, "Immigration Tango" which was a 2 camera RED shoot in Miami. In addition to editing, Misha is post supervising the project and has been in touch with a number of industry leading experts on the multitude of ways to finish using RED camera footage.

Tara Fidler, a recent Video Symphony graduate, has been currently working as an assistant editor on a RED shot feature film called, "Golf in the Kingdom," being cut at Warner Bros Studios on FCP. In the last couple months, she has met with head representatives and engineers at RED to discuss their products and give feedback on how to improve their programs. Additionally, she has been working closely with the RED-FCP online workflow with Motion Picture Imaging, the online post house at Warner Bros.
